Kogi, ECN Partners on Clean Energy Transition

  The Kogi State Government says it will partner with the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) to improve energy access through clean and renewable sources, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This was reaffirmed during a working visit by the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to the headquarters of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) in Abuja, where he was received by the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi. The visit was an opportunity for strategic engagement between the Kogi State Government and the Commission, focusing on areas of collaboration to accelerate clean energy solutions, particularly off-grid electricity development that benefits underserved communities.   North central occupy the centrality of the nation's nucleus political history resides, because of uniqueness in embracing all deviod of ethnicity religion and sectionalism, North central is also known for calmness and resilience in terms of what they believe. The characteristics of unwavering support to attain a country of our dream is becoming a charade, and should not be misconstrued as cowdice ,we're consciously aware that the chairmanship of APC is in the North central zone,this long agitation has been on before the resignation of Alh Dr Abdullah Umar Ganduje,it was presumed that after Dr Ganduje the chairmship of the party will automatically come to the north central, even on Acting bases.  Unfortunately,the party hierarchy again nominated someone from the north East where the vice president hails from,this has raised our curiosity  about what's happening to north central politically, are we a dumping ground for every dick and Harry to be toyed around for every pol...

Afriskaut Elite Super League: Jordan FA's Thrilling Comeback Stuns Reigner FC

  In a thrilling encounter at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, Jordan Football Academy reclaimed the top spot in the Afriskaut Elite Super League with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Reigner FC on Match Day Five.  The victory saw Jordan FA surge to the top of the table with 11 points, ahead of FC Bako and Reigner FC. Kogi, Others Target $750m SABER Fund To Promote Ease of Doing Business

 The Kogi State Government says it is accelerating reforms under the $750 million World Bank-supported SABER programme aimed at improving ease of doing business across the 36 states of the federation.  Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo stated this while playing host to a one-day strategic technical session and statewide townhall meeting held  in collaboration with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) in Lokoja on Friday. Justice Daniel Dantsoho Abutu, a distinguished legal mind and revered jurist, was born on March 15, 1946, in Abocho—now the administrative center of Biraidu district—within the former Igala Native Authority, present-day Kogi State. His birth came during a pivotal era in Igala history, shortly after the installation of the revered Attah of Igala, His Royal Majesty Ameh Oboni. He was born into the respected Abutu-Aji Awulu family. His mother, Attah-Anukwu Awulu (née Attah-Anukwu Ochu), was the only wife of his father. Together, they had nine children—four sons and five daughters—with Daniel being the youngest. Remarkably, both of his parents were in their fifties at the time of his birth. This rare circumstance inspired his first name, Dantsoho, meaning “child of old parents,” a name given by a close Hausa family friend present on the day he was born. Lazarus Akubo, who passed on after a brief illness on the 12th of June 2025. The funeral ceremony took place in his country home, Ika-Odeto, in Ankpa Local Government Area. The Governor was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, and was accompanied by Hon. Ogwu Abdul Hassan, the Kogi East Ag Zonal Chairman of the APC, Hon. Adejoh Nicodemus, Hon. Kogi, NIRSAL in Talks to Scale Up Agribusiness

 Th e Kogi State Government has begun discussions with the Nigerian Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) to foster a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing agribusiness, attracting global investment in agriculture and food security sector in the state.  This was disclosed by the  Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon.
