Kogi State Projector for Good Governance has advocated for more skill acquisition centers for young and Vulnerable in the society.
The Director General for Kogi State Projector for Good Governance, Isah David Ohinoyi made the remark at the presentation of award to some recipients in Lokoja.
The personalities were selected carefully based on their positive contributions to the development of the state and being a supporting members since inception in the state.
Among the those received the Award include the Director-General of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Hajia Nana Hawa Yusuf, has received a presidential award and a certificate of recognition, along with other recipient include Treasurer Kogi Local Government Area , Koto Karfi Chief Abdullahi Mohammed Ohikwura who's also a Ground Patron of the organization in for promoting good governance in Kogi State.
The award was presented during a symposium and Award ceremony organized by the Kogi Projector for Good Governance, a Non-governmental Organization.
The event which took place at the Federal University, Adankolo Campus in Lokoja.
The Director General, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation Princess Hajia Nana Hawa Yusuf after receiving the Award thanked the organizers for the honor bestowed on her and promised to contribute positively the Kogi State Projector programme through enlightenment campaign to sensitize the people of the activity of Kogi projector for good Governance.
Princess Nana Hawa Yusuf urged the organization to carry out more advocacy visits to tertiary institutions and ministries and parastatals to help sensitize students and the people in the state.
In his reaction shortly, the Ground Patron of the Organization, Chief Abdullahi Mohammed Ohikwura promised to justify the confidence repose on him by contributing positively to the growth and development of Projector programme and appealed to the Director General of the organization to extend his employment opportunity to Kogi local government area and other part of local government areas to reduce crimes and criminalities in the society.
The Director-General of the Kogi Projector for Good Governance, Isah David Ohinoyi said the organization has trained people from seventeen local government areas seventeen local government areas and equipped them with various skills acquisition
He called on youths in the state to join the programme and learn the skills which is Free -of-charge, saying they must take responsibility for their own development and future growth.
He also appealed to government at all levels for more support to empower the young people in the state, adding that could help made self become reliant in the society.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka, who was represented by the Director in the Ministry of Information at the Kogi State, Doctor Samuel Atuluku praised the organizers and noted that skill acquisition remains important for national development and called on governments at level to embrace the programme that would help reduce crimes and criminalities in the society.
The Special Adviser therefore called for more training programms to empower youths in the state and the country at large.
The programme witnessed Presidential Awards and Certificates of recognition were also given to some distinguished personalities include the Commissioner for Mineral Solid Resources, Alhaji Bashiru Mohammed Gegu; the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja; and the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, and the High Chief ,Watatawale of Koton Karfe Ohikwura among others.
Some of the areas of training include; dish installation, Poultry and Fish Pond, baking of cakes and small Shops, Events Management Planning.
Plans are ongoing for the establishment of an Information Computer Technology Center by the Kogi Projector for Good Governance in the State.
