The Head of Civil Service of Kogi State, Hajiya Falilate Yusuf Musa, ESQ, FCA, has pledged robust collaboration with credible media organisations committed to positively projecting the activities and achievements of the state government.


Hajiya Falilate made this commitment when the Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of the Confluence Trust Newspaper, Lokoja, Hon. Solomon Agada, paid her a congratulatory and courtesy visit in her office at the State Secretariat Complex, Lokoja.


She noted that private media organisations have continued to complement the efforts of state-owned media outfits, singling out The Confluence Trust Newspaper for its professionalism, wide coverage, and consistency in reporting events and developments within Kogi State and beyond.


According to her, the media remains a powerful tool for information dissemination, education, and public engagement. She therefore called on ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) of government to prioritise partnerships with responsible media organisations to ensure the public is adequately informed about the transformational leadership of His Excellency, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.


Hajiya Falilate revealed that she had closely followed the activities and reportage of the Confluence Trust Newspaper during her tenure as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, adding that she reposes strong confidence in the organisation’s professionalism and balanced reporting. She expressed delight in receiving Hon. Agada and members of his management team in her new office.


The Head of Civil Service used the opportunity to express profound gratitude to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the confidence reposed in her, assuring that she would give her very best to ensure total transformation of the civil service for enhanced efficiency and productivity.


She also appreciated the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kogi State, Hon. Muizudeen Yunus Abdullahi, SAN, for his unwavering support and encouragement, pledging to raise the bar of the service beyond the level she met it.


In his response, Hon. Solomon Agada congratulated Hajiya Falilate Yusuf Musa on her well-deserved appointment and thanked the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for appointing her as Head of Civil Service. He assured her of adequate and objective media coverage of her activities, especially initiatives geared towards strengthening the image and effectiveness of the civil service.


Hon. Agada further commended the Governor for the cash-backed promotion of civil servants in the state, describing it as a morale-boosting policy, and urged the government to sustain the momentum for accelerated and inclusive development.


The highlight of the visit was the presentation of copies of the latest edition of the Confluence Trust Newspaper, as well as group photographs with members and staff of the organisation.
