KSG Settles GeeMoney Global Kleaners Debt, Absorbs Staff

In demonstration of commitment to fairness and accountability, the Kogi State Government under the leadership of Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo has paid off outstanding arrears to Staff of Gee Money Global Kleaners. The State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun, disclosed this on Friday, 20-08-2024, while overseeing the ongoing payment exercise to the affected staff. According to the commissioner, the  Governor mandated a thorough assessment, which led to the discovery of unpaid arrears by the former sanitation services vendor, Gee Money Global Kleaners prompting the government to settle the debt through the State Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management. FG to backdate minimum wage payment .

The Committee on Consequential Adjustments in Salaries for civil servants has agreed that the new minimum wage will be implemented from 29 July 2024. This was stated in a Memorandum of Understanding issued at the end of the committee’s meeting, which was seen by our correspondent in Abuja on Friday. The committee also recommended that the wage award, which was discontinued by the Federal Government, should be paid until 28 July 2024. The committee, headed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, noted that the government considered the economic situation in the country before making its decisions. Kogi Govt releases BECE, Basic Six, Common Entrance Exams' Results

The Kogi State Ministry of Education has announced the release of the 2024 results of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), Basic Six and Common Entrance Examinations (CEE). The ministry made the announcement in a statement signed by the Director Examination, Admission and Certification, Mrs Grace  Egbeneye, and made available to journalists on Friday in Lokoja  Egbeneye urged respective school Administrators to collect the results of Basic Six and Common Entrance from Area Education Evaluators (AEE's) Offices in their respective Local Government Areas, while the BECE results could only be access by Scratch Card. Kogi Government Lauds NNS Lugard's Intervention to Boost Education Secto The Kogi Commissioner for Education, Mr. Wemi Jones, has commended the officers and men of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Lugard, Lokoja, for its untervention in the state's education sector. NMA raises alarm over NOC's purported plan to impose illegal SOC in Kogi

The Nigerian Medical Association, (NMA), Kogi Chapter, has raised an alarm accusing its National Officers Committee (NOC) of planning to impose an illegal State Executive Council (SEC) in Kogi State. The Kogi NMA made the allegation in Communique issued after its Emergency General Meeting (EGM), jointly signed by its Chairman, Dr Abubakar Alhassan; and Secretary, Dr Adaranijo Kolapo, on Friday in Lokoja. The association faulted a letter allegedly signed by NOC Secretary- General of the national body, Dr. Benjamin Egbo, dated 13th September 13, recognising unknown persons as Kogi NMA Chairman and Secretary.
