Kogi State Government Opens Pre-qualification Tender For UBEC/SUBEB Capital Projects

 The Kogi State Government has opened pre-qualifications tender for UBEC/SUBEB capital projects, with a call on prospective contractors to ensure quality job. The State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) is inviting qualified, experienced, and competent companies to participate in the tender process for the projects.  The Chairman State Universal Basic Education, Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Abdulrazaq Mohammed Yusuf, who stated this in Lokoja, explained that the government will continue to accord priority to education sector to bring about positive development. Nupe Natives Host 2nd Edition of Free Medical Outreach in Lokoja, Screens 100 Persons

  The Nupe Natives of Lokoja Development Union, has organised a free quarterly medical check-up on Saturday in Lokoja. The medical outreach featured screening for Blood Pressure, blood sugar, body weight, and medical counseling, among others. The Etsu Lokoja, Chief Emmanuel Akamisoko Dauda-Shelika, NYamkpa IV, said the initiative aimed to promote societal wellness,  "We know times are hard, and not many prioritize health. Bringing healthcare to the doorstep can enhance health awareness and encourage early diagnosis. "Over 100 people were screened, surpassing the 60 attendees in December 2025," he said. Speaking to journalists after a ward meeting held on Friday 20th of March,2026 at Mozum, the ward headquarters, the PDP Ward Chairman, Alhaji Adama Ibrahim, disclosed that the suspension followed actions taken by Mohammed Gambo Sani without proper authorization from the party. According to the chairman, the party received a petition against Mohammed Gambo Sani who reportedly wrote a letter to the National Secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, requesting the dissolution of the ward and local government executive committees in Kogi State without prior consultation or approval from the party .   The Kogi State Government has offered its condolences and support to affected families of a horrific road accident in Okunchi, Adavi Local Government Area, The accident, which occurred on Thursday, involving a tanker and a BUA Cement truck, resulted in a massive fire outbreak, destroying vehicles, a residential building, and a mosque.,  The accident claimed lives, including a motorcyclist, and left several injured, with one critically ill cement truck driver succumbing to injuries.
