21 Kogi LGA Chairmen, 239 Councillors Endorse Governor Ododo for Second Term

  Ch airmen of the 21 Local Government Areas alongside the Forum of Councillors of the 239 electoral wards in Kogi State have officially endorsed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office.  The endorsement followed a motion by the Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Hon. William Ameh, and seconded by the Chairperson of the Forum of Councillors, Obaromi Comfort Olufunke from Kabba Bunu local government area and was unanimously accepted by all 21 council chairmen and 239 ward councilors. This declaration of support took place on the sidelines of a three-day induction course currently ongoing in Lokoja for elected local government officials and top finance and administrative officers from the 21 local government areas. Network providers in Lokoja metropolis have been called upon to put modalities in place to avoid future occurrences in the breakdown of Network service in Kogi state. This was the opinion of customers who spoke on the negative effects of the network within Lokoja.  A furniture maker, Sunitex furnitures, Lokoja, said the breakdown in communication has negatively affected his business as he not access his customers as usual. Similarly, Mrs Paul, called on government and the network providers to resolve issues quickly through dialogue to avoid future occurrences. A point of Sales Operator (POS) , Esther Rufus regretted that she has lost serious money since MTN stopped working in the state capital. A Keke operator who chose to speak on anonymity appealed to network providers to look on the plight of the ordinary Nigerians and restore the network. The Kogi State Government has launched a polio vaccination campaign, coinciding with the celebration of African Vaccination Week, to protect children from the debilitating effects of poliovirus.  The campaign is launched by Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KSPHCDA) in collaboration with State Ministry of Health & Partners, to commemorate the Integrated 2025 National Immunization Plus Days (NIPDs) and African Vaccination Week (AVW). The Kogi Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, who flagged off the campaign on Saturday, emphasized that vaccines save lives.  He stressed that the key objective NIPDs and AVW, was aimed to increase immunisation coverage and reduce vaccine-preventable diseases. RAINSTORM WREAKS HAVOC AT NYSC ORIENTATION CAMP, YIKPATA, KWARA STATE*

  A devastating rainstorm struck the National Youth Service Corps  Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, on Saturday, causing widespread destruction of camp facilities and Millions worth properties.  The heavy downpour, which began early in the day, was accompanied by strong winds that wreaked havoc across the camp premises. According to our source, the extent of the damage is significant. Several key facilities within the camp suffered considerable destruction.  Among the structures affected are the Multipurpose Hall, the Administrative Block, the Camp Mosque, and several hostel blocks housing corps members and camp officials.
