Echocho distributes relief materials to rainstorm victims in Ofu LGA
The Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho), has facilitated the distribution of
relief materials from National Refugees Commission, to victims of rainstorm which destroyed residential buildings in Itobe, Adumu, Itagidi, Oladebu, Ajegwu, Ofeke, Allo, and other communities in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, to cushion the impact of the disaster.
Distributing the materials in Itobe on Monday, the Senator, who was represented by his Senior Legislative Aide on project, Alhaji Akpa Jibrin Omale assures the victims of Echocho's continues support at all times.
Akpa said, “The Senator during his last visit, made a promise that more relief materials will be provided for the victims as he had written to the relevant government agencies for urgent intervention. I am glad to be in your midst today to deliver on the promises.
Akpa disclosed that the Senator has directed that the materials which include Zink and bags of rice be given to all the victims affected by the disaster, regardless of their political affiliations.
The Kogi State House of assembly member representing Ofu, Hon Shehu Seidu Amodu commended the Senator for his swift response and said “Today, Echocho has put smiles on the faces of my people and we will forever be grateful to him”.
The leader of Ofeke, Adumu and Oladebu communities, Adams Yusuf, thanked the Senator for urgent response, promised that his people will reciprocate it at the appropriate time.
