  The Kogi State Government has taken a significant step towards boosting the livestock sector with the bid opening for the Construction Works Phase 1 of the Livestock Service Center (LSC) Osara Adavi LGA, Kogi State.   The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of citizens who died in a tragic road accident while returning from the World Disability Day commemoration in Lokoja on Wednesday.  The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) has placed a ban on low volume alcohol across the country. Kogi State Coordinator of NAFDAC, Pharmacist Benu Mawo Philip who stated this while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja said the outright ban which will take effect   from 19th of December is to put an end to production and sales of alcoholic bitters below  two hundred mils in sachets and bottles. He maintained that the decision is to curb the abuse of the products based on financial implications and portability. The coordinator said the ban was to take effect last year but was suspended due to pressure from manufacturer  and other stakeholders. A non‑governmental organization, Akoni Care Foundation, has awarded scholarships to 30 boys of Universal Basic Education Secondary School, Gadumo, Lokoja in Kogi State.  The foundation also donated 500 free books to the students and 300 menstrual pads to the girls, emphasizing proper hygiene and empowerment for both sexes.
