Corporate organizations and individuals urged to support sporting activities to bring out young talents

 



Corporate organizations and individuals in the state have been urged to support sporting activities to bring out young talents that can compete at  State and National Sports competitions.


The Director-General, Government House Administration, Doctor Shuaibu Umar Oricha made the remarks when he received members of Golden Star Football Club in Lokoja.


Doctor Oricha said sporting activities became necessary as it brings people together irrespective of their religions and tribes.



According to him, sports plays a major role in the society, calling on well-to-do individuals and organizations to support government at all levels to promote sports development.


He assured that the present administration will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the Olympic stadium in the state will meet requirements for both State and National sporting competitions.


The Director-General noted that most famous footballers  players started from the grassroots, stressing the need for commitment and an enabling environment. 



He praised the club for its  commitment to sporting excellence and urged them not to relent in their efforts.


Doctor Oricha assured that the football pitch in Aniebo quarters will be given a facelift for future sporting events.


Earlier, the Coach of the Club, Delinimi Ibrahim explained that the club has been operating for a few years.



Coach Ibrahim said the presentation of the trophy followed the recent completion of a competition where the club emerged victorious.



He commended the Director-General for  his efforts in supporting sporting activities in the state in the state.


Highlight was the presentation of Trophy Cup won by the Golden Star Football ⚽ Club of Aniebo lead by it coach,  Coach Delinimi Ibrahim among others players to the Director General Government House Administration Doctor Umar Oricha Shuaibu.
