Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, was filled with excitement and celebration as the Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church Worldwide Headquarters, Lokoja, Pastor Dr. Isreal Olajumoke, marked his 59th birthday in a grand and remarkable style that brought joy to many, especially orphans and the less privileged in society.
The week-long celebration turned into a carnival-like event as friends, associates, well-wishers, and church branches from within and outside the state trooped out in large numbers to celebrate with the respected cleric.
Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion was the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Prof .Gbenga Solomon Ibilleye, who attended the celebration alongside his beloved wife and other members of his family.
Speaking during the event, Pastor Dr. Isreal Olajumoke disclosed that his initial plan was to mark his 60th birthday with a large funfair. However, he expressed surprise at the massive turnout and the overwhelming show of love that characterized his 59th birthday celebration, describing it as a great testimony of God’s grace.
The cleric explained that his decision to celebrate this year’s birthday through street evangelism, visits to orphanage homes, and a medical outreach for people with health challenges was part of his effort to complement government efforts in providing social services to the people.
According to him, government alone should not be left with the responsibility of catering for the welfare of the people, noting that individuals and organizations also have roles to play in supporting society.
Thousands of people from far and near benefited from the humanitarian gestures. The sick received medical attention as health professionals conducted tests and administered necessary drugs, while others were provided with food items and financial support.
The celebration also featured a massive street evangelism across Lokoja, during which the gospel of Jesus Christ was preached and several individuals reportedly gave their lives to Christ.
Reflecting on his journey, Pastor Olajumoke noted that his 30 years in the Body of Christ and 31 years in ministry have been deeply fulfilling, stating that “there has never been a better yesterday.”
He expressed profound gratitude to God and appreciated his spiritual father, Bishop David Oyedepo, for the opportunity to serve in the ministry, pledging to remain committed to the service of God.
The cleric also appreciated his beloved wife, children, and the entire congregation for celebrating with him and prayed that celebration would never depart from their homes in Jesus’ name.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibilleye, described his encounter with Pastor Dr. Isreal Olajumoke as a blessing from the very first day. He noted that the pastor’s prayers and spiritual support were among the instruments God used to elevate him to his present position. He prayed that God would continue to guide, protect, and bless the cleric with sound health, longevity, and prosperity.
Also speaking, Hon.
