Community Campaign on 'Go Green ' in our primary schools is an intervention by UBEC/SUBEB project to create awareness about climate change due to human activities that resulted in deforestation, increase green house gases emissions leading to global warming and environmental problems. 


Going Green in our schools means adopting eco-friendly habits like planting of trees especially wind breaker and economy trees, saving energy, erosion control and reducing waste. 


These actions help protect the schools environment for conducive learning and create a healthier, sustainable future for our school children.


In an efforts for Community Campaign on Climate and Go Green by Greening School in kogi State, Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB)/ Universal Basic Education Commission(UBEC)  have organized Twenty Twenty Five  Action Plan .


Flag- off the Campaign in Lokoja, the State Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) ,Alhaji Abdulrazaq Mohammed Yusuf explained that Climate and Go Green 2025 Action Plan was a deliberate attempt to ensure that Greening School became imperative in view of it importance in education background in the state.


The Chairman noted that education sector remains one of the cardinal objectives of the present administration under president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Usman Ododo to ensure a qualitative education for all.


He reiterated that Green Tree Planting became a major priority hence it also  serves as wind broker during the storm and produce fruit for human consumption.



Alhaji Abdulrazaq explained that the flag- off and distributions of  twelve Mini buses, Toyota Sienna for Quality  Assurance and Social Mobilization Toyota Hiace, Motorcycles, Laptops tablets Table Tennis  kits were also  among the items. 


The Chairman charged the beneficiaries of the  mobility to take precautions while using them on official assignment which will enable them ensure a smooth running of day -to-day duties.





Speaking onbehalf of the Education Secretaries of  various school thanked the kogi State government for the provision of mobility to departments and other items in the state.


Also speaking at the Tree Planting, the Vice principal of UBE G.S.S Holy Trinity School, Mallam Usman Yakubu Nda praised the Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB/ UBEC for allowing the school Go- Green in the state.



Director, Department of Greening Schools And Environmental Sustainability, Mathew Bello said going green in school become necessary in view of it importance to human health.
