Construction of Mini - NLG Power Plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State, Receives a Significant Boost.

 


The people of Kogi State and Northerners in general witnessed an expanded access to industrial and commercial Natural Gas in northern Nigeria and environs.


The initiative which has withnesed a significant boost today 9th April 2026 through a  Stakeholders engagement and Enlightened Forum between Gasnexus (a subsidiary of Axxela) in partnership with NNPC, Gas marketing Limited and various stakeholders from  Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State.


The meeting which attracted personalities including traditional rulers, political office holders, security agencies has in its agenda, the roles of stakeholders for the actualisation of the Small Scale Liquidfied Natural Gas in Ajaokuta as well as cooperate responsibilities of the company to the various communities involved.


The project with the theme " From Gas to Prosperity Catalysing Nigeria's Economic Growth" will snowballed into the construction of Mini LNG Development Plant Project in Ajaokuta.


The initiative is part of the Federal Government efforts to drive sustainable energy development and economic transformation in NigerAndroid 

It could be recalled that in early 2025, Gasnexus and NGML broke ground on a 20 mm - SCF/ D mini LNG plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State to expand domestic gas utilisation particularly through small scale Liquidfied Natural Gas solution (NLG) solution.

  The Head of Service of Kogi State, Dr Elijah Adeiza Evinemi FCA  in a warm reception  of the top executives of Ododo Bassa Youth Grassroots Initiative (OBYGI) during a courtesy visit in his office, has been appointed patron of the Association.
