Ebira Group Urges the Supreme Court To Serve Justice on the altar of integrity and justice in the Appeal Before It.
We the members of Ebira Youth Consultative Forum for Good Governance for Sustainable Democracy in Nigeria" wishes to call on the Apex Court to ensure unbiased justice is served in the appeal bothering on the disputed Kogi State November 11th, 2023 governorship election before it, as anything short of that is dancing on landmines, which to the best of our knowledge is tantamount to burying our democracy alive.
As a group, we recognise the importance of the judiciary to sustainable democracy by standing true to its core values of advancing incontrovertible facts of a case rather than furthering the destructive points of technicalities.
It is pertinent therefore, to advise against setting of very dangerous judicial precedences capable of undermining the very core values of the democracy our heroes fought so hard to entrench.
It is instructive to note that, the BVAS innovation of year 2022 was a monumental milestone and a supposed guide to the true electoral process, transparency, credibility and acceptability.
It is however, disheartening, appalling misnomer and a step against good conscience that such groundbreaking innovation is being trashed on the alter of evil technicalities and a seemingly procured justice in the lower courts.
To this end, we call on the Apex Court to safe democracy by upholding the relevance of BVAS and its hardcore evidence with a view to serving justice where necessary and of course, in the instant case.
We look forward to your unbiased adjudication of the appeal and pray God Almighty guide you in your decision.
