Young talented sports loving in the state have been encouraged to put in their best to meet up the national and international  sporting competitions.


The State Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Abdulrazak Mohammed -Yusuf made the remark in a message to the third Edition of  Basic Education Sports ( BESS)   for primary schools under twelve boys and girls State Final under the 2022 SUBEB Sports Development Intervention Fund, in lokoja.


The Chairman in a message represented by the Secretary of Board, Alhaji Salisu Adakeke  praised the state government for organizing the competition, said the sporting activities began to floorish under the leadership of the immediate past Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello  who has laid a solid foundation for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to build on his legacy  in sporting activities.


He urged the school's in the state  to shun hiring experts footballers into sporting competition , adding the ideas would discourage the younger generations not to participate in sporting development.


The competition drawn participants from three zones in the state in different sporting activities which includes, football match , out -door and In-door Alteletes, relay for both boys and girls and Ayo amongst others.


The competition withnessed presentation of medals and trophy to participating schools from the three zones in the state.
