Kogi Shines at ABUJA NAFEST 2024



Kogi State Council of Arts and Culture has qualified for the second round of Traditional Board game (Ayo) at the ongoing National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST 2024, Abuja).


According to Kogi State NAFEST Secretary, Elder Gabriel Edicha, the Council's representative, Mr. Samson Egene alias Soso is giving a good account of himself at the competition.


Kogi State is a favourite to clinch the Ayo competition, just as it did at NAFEST 2020 in Plateau State.


In anticipation of the approval of the State governor, His Excellency, Alh Usman Ahmed Ododo, the state contingent entered for four events, namely i. Trado contemporary dance, ii. Sing off iii. Dance off, iv. Traditional board game (Ayo). 


In a press release signed by the Public Relations Officer,  Alhassan Halidu and made available to Journalists in Lokoja said the team is optimistic that the State Council for Arts and Culture will also give a good account of itself  in the other events entered for.


Meanwhile, hopes are high that His Excellency, Alh Usman Ahmed Ododo will approve the release of funds to enable the rest Artistes join their colleagues in Abuja.
