AMAJIMI - OMACHE DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (O.D.D.A) NATIONAL EXECUTIVE INAUGURATED.

MAJIMI", a consortium of uniformed personnel serving in various locations Nationwide, all indigenes of Omache District in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State has inaugurated its national executives.


The inauguration ceremony held at the Community Secondary School, Agojeju, headquarters of the District, was performed by the District Head and Onu Omache, HRH Chief Barr. Alih Okeme, recently.



The ceremony, the first of its kind in the history of the community, was aimed at fostering love and unity among sons and daughters of Omache District, who are members of various security agencies in Nigeria also aims at tackling various security threats to communities within the district.


In his inaugural address, the pioneer President of the association, SC Janagwu Noah Monday was full of gratitude to God for seeing the association through the very successful E-election and the inauguration, appreciated his members for their full cooperation so far, so well.



Officer Janagwu noted that the association was birthed between February/March, 2024, with 74 members drawn from various security agencies such as the Police, Civil Defence, Immigration, Correctional Services, Road safety, NDLEA and others.


He opined that as mortals who are bound to make mistakes, members should help correct his shortcomings with love and constructive criticisms, adding that avenues to getting to the top through open doors were open, calling on all hands to be on deck, through individual responsibilities as leaders, to move the association to an enviable heights.



To lay a sound foundation upon which the association stands firm, the National President of the association said they were poised to establish a Police and Civil Defence outposts in the community. In this regard, he beckoned on the stakeholders of Omache District, to assist in providing logistics and accommodation to oil the wheel of progress of their dreams to reduce the seeming rise of crime, criminalities and insecurities in the environment.


In a remark, the District Head and Onu Omache, HRH Barrister Alih Okeme, who couldn't control his joy, thanked the AMAJIMIS for thinking and actualizing the course of fighting insecurity and criminalities, to enable his people to sleep with their two eyes closed.



While noting that security was everyone's responsibility, the Onu Omache described the move by the Amajimis as very unique, adding that it was a complementary efforts, having been encapsulated into one group. 


HRH Barr.Alih Okeme advised the youth who are the major culprits in the discourse of criminality, to hence forth be warned and have change of hearts, as recalcitrant ones will be made to face the full wrath of the outcome of their heinous crimes, any day.


Highlights of the epoch occasion included a paper presentation on "Security Challenges in Nigeria, AMAJIMI to the Rescue", by a seasoned educationist, a Senior Lecturer with the Federal College of Education, Okene, Dr Stephen Okpanachi.


Also, members of the E-voting Electoral Committee that brought the National Executives on board on board, chaired by Mr Sylvester Atabo, were all honoured with Awards of Exemplary performances by the Amajimi Association.


The awards were presented by Barr. Jonson Amade Ojogbane, Principal Partner at the "Signature Chambers" Abuja, a just retired Senior Officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nigeria.


In a brief remark, the Chairman of the occasion's organizing committee, Inspector Savantos Okpanachi, thanked all Officers and Men who made the day real, noting that the onus was on them all, to make the association to succeed.


The occasion played host to the cream of the society, the community especially OMACHEANS that were home for the yuletide.
