National Agency for  Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) will soon commence a sensitisation awareness against fake products in Kogi State.


Kogi State Coordinator of the agency, Mr Anikoh Ibrahim stated this while speaking with news men in Lokoja.


Mr Anikoh said, the sensitisation tour is to educate the public on the dangers poses by the consumption of fake drugs and other consumables.


He  noted that NAFDAC is working closely with Kogi State Government and other relevant stakeholders to make the exercise a successful one.


He explained that fake and substandard products have led so many people to their early graves and urged the people of the state to be vigilant and report suspicious cases to appropriate authority.


Anikoh maintained that consumable products that are duly registered with the Agency,among others will contain labels indicating; name of products, manufacturing dates, weight, composition, batch coding and expiry dates.


He also appealed to consumers of drugs to always confirm authenticity of the product through free SMS code to differentiate between genuine , substandard, falsified and fake,  products as the case may be.
