Private sector advised to join hands with government in providing vast cultural resources of the state

 


Private sectors and well-to-do individuals have been called upon to join hands with the present administration in the development and provision of vast cultural resources of kogi State.


Commissioner for Culture and Tourism ,Mrs  Acharu Okpanachi made the call during the celebration of World Cultural Day in Lokoja.


May twenty one every year is set aside to by the United Nation as World Cultural Day to create awareness among the international communities about the importance of Culture and it’s socio economic and potential values.


The celebration is also aimed at promoting Culture and Tourism as a Worthy human venture capable of transforming societies optimally.


The commissioner for Culture and Tourism Okpanachi Acharu appeal to private sectors as well as well to do individuals to assist in contributing their quota  to give the state tourism tourist  acttraction.


Mrs Acharu  said the celebration is one of the biggest and most celebrated globally on the adoption of the United Nation with the theme  World Day for Culture Diversity for Dialogue and Development.


According to him, the theme is focused on the ability of Culture to empower people and provide them with skills to achieve change in their local communities.


He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his support to the ministry of Culture and Tourism adding that the ministry will not relent efforts in actualizing the vision and mission of the present administration in the state.

Ukomu Igala Organization Lokoja Chapter has elected New Executive Officers  to run it's affairs for the next years with a call to be united for the progress of the organization.
