  Kogi State Government, through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Kogi RAAMP) in collaboration with the State Ministry of Energy and Rural Development, is set to officially flag off the construction of the 12.5km Unosi–Odonto–Ogigiri rural road in Ajaokuta Local Government Area. Jordan Football Academy Launches Free Training Sessions for Young Talents

  The Jordan Football Academy has launched a free training program for young football enthusiasts in Kogi State.  The program, designed for children aged Under-7 to Under-12, aims to promote physical fitness, basic football skills, and teamwork among the youth. The training has commenced on August 1, 2025, to end in September before school resumption. The Venue is Chari Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja, Kogi State, 4 pm daily, Monday to Friday. NIGOSAN Chief Executive Officer Advocates Periodical Medical Checkup to Averts Total Collapse of the System.

The Chief Executive Officer of NIGOSAN Health and Wellness Centre Lokoja, Pharmacist Ajanigo Sani has called for periodical medical checkup to detect and avert serious health challenges that can surface in the future. Pharmacist Sanni gave the advice in an interview with newsmen in Lokoja. She said human anatomy is similar to mechanical device that requires periodic servicing, warning that an act of negligence can leads to catastrophic results. AfDB Lauds Gov. Ododo, Lists State Among SAPZ Beneficiaries

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has lauded the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his administration’s commitment to advancing agriculture and food security, as Kogi State looks set to  benefit from the Bank’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) programme. This was disclosed during a high-level policy dialogue in Abuja organised by the AfDB to deepen conversations around access to finance, youth and women empowerment and agribusiness development across Nigeria. Take precautionary measures to prevent fire outbreak

The people of Kogi State have been urged to always Take precautionary measures to prevent fire outbreaks. Controller, Kogi State Fire Agency, Mrs Sule Rabi gave the advice during a sensitisation programe on fire prevention held at the international market in Lokoja. Mrs Rabi said fire accident most time are due to human error and stressed the need to always take precautionary measures to avoid or minimize loss associated with such disaster. She emphasized the need to always put off all electrical appliances when not in use or moving out to prevent hazzard occasioned by an upsurge in electrical current by the time the power is restored. The controller also warned against unguarded use of gas cylinders and burners saying camping gas should never be placed side by side when in use  She also warned against the use of mobile sets when gas is on as well as when gas mistakenly leaks as it could trigger fire out breaks.   Contractors handling the year 2024 Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC)/State Universal Basic Education Board's(SUBEB) projects have been told to work  in accordance with the established designs and specifications. Chairman of SUBEB Alhaji Abdulrazaq Mohammed Yusuf gave the urged during the bid opening of 2024 capital projects. Alhaji Abdulrazaq said his work was made easy by the smooth relationship he has with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other stakeholders in SUBEB, emphasized the need to avoid substandard job. Kogi State Ministry of Health, in conjunction with the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, have  commemorated the 2025 World Breastfeeding Week with a call for increased awareness and support for breastfeeding.  Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Steven Aziz Momoh, who represented the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza noted that strong synergy was required for the attainment of set goals. According to him, breastfeeding offers numerous benefits for both children and mothers, including promoting healthy brain development, preventing malnutrition and diseases, and reducing the risk of obesity and chronic diseases.
