Eligible voters in the state have been urged to participate fully in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration Exercise
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Education, Abdullahi Suleiman has urged eligible voters to participate fully in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The Special Adviser who stated this while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja said the exercise is a crucial step in shaping our collective future and determining the leadership of our state.
He explained that by registering, citizens qualify not only to vote but also to be voted for, thereby participating in the democratic process.
According to him, the importance of political participation cannot be over emphasized .
It is through voting that citizens hold their leaders accountable and ensure that their voices are heard.
He noted that government at all levels is committed to deepening grassroots governance and expanding political participation, and this exercise is a key part of that effort.
The Special Adviser encouraged all citizens, especially youths and women in rural areas, to seize this opportunity and register to vote .
He pointed out that governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed all political appointees to return to their respective Local Government Areas (LGAs) to mobilize citizens for the CVR exercise.
This demonstrates the government's commitment to grassroots engagement and ensuring that every citizen's voice is heard.
He urged all citizens to cooperate with these efforts and take advantage of the registration exercise .
The benefits of political participation are numerous, by registering to vote, citizens can influence the direction of the state and ensure that their needs are met.
Governments has already shown its commitment to the welfare of citizens through various initiatives, including prompt payment of salaries, road construction, and provision of healthcare services.
The Special Adviser maintained that participating in the CVR exercise, citizens can build on these gains and shape the future of our state.
He used the occasion to call on all citizens to come out in large numbers and participate in the CVR exercise.
