SDP Holds Stakeholders’ Meeting in Biraidu District, Assures Readiness for 2027 Elections
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Biraidu District of Dekina Local Government Area has convened a high-level stakeholders’ meeting aimed at sensitizing members on the importance of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise across the country.
Speaking during the meeting, the leader of Okoyi in Biraidu District, Hon. Yusuf Aruwa, explained that the primary objective of the gathering was to mobilize and educate residents on the need to fully participate in the CVR exercise. He emphasized that voter registration is the first step towards ensuring credible participation in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Hon. Aruwa reassured the people of the SDP’s readiness to promote good governance and attract positive development to every community in Biraidu. He urged party members to remain steadfast and committed to the core ideals of the party, adding that “the SDP is the party to beat in all elections as far as Kogi East Senatorial District is concerned.”
He further called on the party’s executive members to hold regular meetings in order to keep members well-informed about the activities of the party at both the state and national levels. Such engagements, he noted, would help resolve internal issues and strengthen the party’s structures, ensuring peace, progress, and unity ahead of the next elections.
Hon. Aruwa did not mince words in lamenting the alleged neglect of Biraidu District by the APC-led government in Kogi State, stating that there is no visible trace of meaningful development in the area. According to him, vital infrastructure such as roads, schools, and hospitals remain in a deplorable condition.
He specifically cited the Ogbabo–Emewe–Abocho–Ajekelaga–Ajioyolo road, describing its poor state as “a thing of shame” to those who continue to support the present administration. He pledged that an SDP-led government would correct these ills and “give government back to the people,” noting that the current reality where the state governor and his cabinet members allegedly stay in Abuja without addressing the plight of the people would soon become a thing of the past.
Hon. Aruwa stressed that markets, schools, and healthcare facilities across the district are in terrible condition and require urgent attention. He maintained that the people deserve a government that truly values them and listens to their concerns.
Other prominent speakers at the event, including Hon. Engr. Kabir Abija and Hon. Boy Today, also expressed confidence in the party’s growing popularity and reiterated their commitment to ensuring SDP’s victory in 2027.
Party executives and representatives from Emewe, Ogbabede, and Abocho wards were present and used the platform to reaffirm their loyalty to the party and their determination to mobilize more supporters.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Aruwa urged members to remain focused, united, and committed to the party’s cause. He assured them that “Alhaji Murtala Ajaka remains ready to do the needful at the right time,” underscoring that SDP’s mission to restore hope and deliver good governance in Kogi State is firmly on course
