Kogi Govt Pledges Support for Victims of Tanker Crash in Adavi

 


The Kogi State Government has offered its condolences and support to affected families of a horrific road accident in Okunchi, Adavi Local Government Area,


The accident, which occurred on Thursday, involving a tanker and a BUA Cement truck, resulted in a massive fire outbreak, destroying vehicles, a residential building, and a mosque., 


The accident claimed lives, including a motorcyclist, and left several injured, with one critically ill cement truck driver succumbing to injuries.


The incident left the community in mourning



The government delegation, led by Alh. Ahmed Oricha, State Project Coordinator of Kogi AGILE Project, who visited the scene and victims in the hospital on Friday, conveyed the Gov. Ahmed Ododo"s message of solidarity. 


The delegation met with community leaders and residents, who commended the government's swift response and ongoing road construction efforts, which prevented further tragedy.


The government assured the community of its commitment to improving road infrastructure and safety measures.


"The delegation's visit to the hospital and accident site demonstrated the government's empathy and support for victims and their families. 


"The government is commitment to supporting citizens in crisis. We must ensure safety on our road, especially for heavy-duty vehicles," Oricha said.


He praised the medical teams' efforts, urging caution on the roads. 


The people of Okunchi appreciated the government's prompt response and empathy, finding comfort in their support during a difficult time.
