People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Suspends Mohammed Gambo Sani for Misconduct*
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Mozum Ward, Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, has suspended Mohammed Gambo Sani over alleged misconduct, in violation of Article 58(1)(b) and (h) of the party’s Constitution (2017 as amended).
Speaking to journalists after a ward meeting held on Friday 20th of March,2026 at Mozum, the ward headquarters, the PDP Ward Chairman, Alhaji Adama Ibrahim, disclosed that the suspension followed actions taken by Mohammed Gambo Sani without proper authorization from the party.
According to the chairman, the party received a petition against Mohammed Gambo Sani who reportedly wrote a letter to the National Secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, requesting the dissolution of the ward and local government executive committees in Kogi State without prior consultation or approval from the party .
Alhaji Ibrahim stated that such actions constitute an offence as outlined in the party’s constitution, adding that based on these allegations, Mohammed Gambo Sani has been suspended from the party with immediate effect for an initial period of thirty (30) days.
He further revealed that a disciplinary committee has been constituted in line with Article 57 of the PDP Constitution to thoroughly investigate the matter and address the allegations against the suspended member.
The ward chairman also confirmed that a formal notice of the suspension has been communicated in writing to the local government executive of the party in Bassa LGA, headquarters.
According to the local government chairman of the party, Abubakar Umar. S. the party received the notice of suspection of Mohammed Gambo Sani and held executive committee meeting on 21st March,2026 and ratified his suspection accordinly at the local government headqusters ,Oguma.
He further stated that,he has written to the Zonal Chairman of the people's democratic party,Kogi East, Hon. Igagu Idris for further necessary action.
Alhaji Ibrahim emphasized that the authority of any party member or executive is rooted at the ward level, stressing that due process must always be followed in party affairs. He called on Mohammed Gambo Sani to appear before the disciplinary committee to explain the basis and authority under which he wrote to the party’s national headquarters requesting the dissolution of duly constituted party structures, he stated.
