As the 2027 electioneering season gathers momentum, the Member representing the good people of Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chief Paul Gowon Haruna (IJN), has commenced wide consultations alongside the presentation of his scorecard to constituents.
During his visit to Bassa Local Government Area yesterday, the lawmaker rolled out a number of his verifiable and landmark constituency projects, highlighting his commitment to grassroots development and responsive representation. He used the opportunity to reaffirm his readiness to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far.
Rt. Hon. Haruna emphasized that lawmaking remains the primary responsibility for which he was elected, adding that deliberate efforts are ongoing to translate legislative duties into tangible and impactful benefits for the people.
Responding to questions on empowerment and employment opportunities for constituents, he assured that steps are being taken to expand the scope of beneficiaries beyond those already engaged. He appealed for patience and understanding, noting that some approved projects are awaiting the release of funds as captured in the 2025 national budget approved by Mr. President.
Various stakeholders who spoke at the meeting expressed appreciation for the consultation visit, commending his performance and urging him not to relent in delivering on his mandate.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Local Government Chairman, past and present commissioners from the area, political appointees, and other key community leaders.
It is expected that the consultation train will move to Dekina Local Government Area today, as part of his continued efforts to engage with constituents, strengthen unity, and provide updates on his stewardship at the National Assembly.
