In Loving Memory of Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo
One year ago, a great patriarch returned to his Creator.
Today, August 18, 2026, marks exactly one year since the passing of Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, the revered father of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, Executive Governor of Kogi State.
One year has passed, but the memories remain evergreen. The passage of time may soften the pain of loss, but it can never erase the footprints of a father whose life touched his family, the State and those privileged to know him.
Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo was more than a father to his children; he was a respected patriarch and community leader whose values of faith, humility, discipline, service and compassion continue to live through the family he left behind. His legacy is particularly evident in the character, humility and commitment to service demonstrated by his son, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo FCA.
On this solemn first anniversary, we remember him not only with tears, but with gratitude to Almighty Allah for the gift of his life and the positive footprints he left behind.
Our prayer is that, Ya Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate,
On this first anniversary of the return of Your servant, Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, to You, we humbly ask that You envelop him in Your infinite mercy.
Forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, illuminate his grave, grant him peace and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus.
May every act of kindness he rendered, every life he touched and every good seed he planted in his lifetime continue to speak for him before You.
May Almighty Allah grant the Governor, his family, relatives, friends and all who mourn his departure the strength and fortitude to continue to honour his memory through good deeds and a life of service.
A father may depart this world, but the values he planted never die.
One year gone.
One year remembered.
But a lifetime of memories remains.
May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace and may Al-Jannah Firdaus be his eternal home.
Aamiin Ya Rabbil Alamin.
