The Chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kogi State Chapter, Alhaji Raji Musa says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has provided necessary farm inputs to farmers in Kogi State under the Renew Hope Agenda for improved food production

The Chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kogi State Chapter, Alhaji Raji Musa says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has provided necessary farm inputs to farmers in Kogi State under the Renew Hope Agenda for improved food production.

Alhaji Musa stated this in an interview with our Reporter in Lokoja.

He explained that the gesture will reduce the cost of production and  enable farmers to have access to direct inputs that will improve their productivity. 

He said the President has assured the association of a guaranteed minimum price, saying whatever they produce would be sellable across the country.

The AFAN Chairman also explained that the federal government is currently addressing Agro Climatic Resilience in Semi Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) on agriculture by making the early maturing planting material available to the doorsteps of farmers, as well as making fertilizer available for
 farmers to boost their productivities.

He however called for creation of mor farm settlement and available water source for all year round farming saying the nation has the potential to feed all citizens and export to other nation.

He applauded the government's efforts to boost food production with the recent restrictions placed on importation of some farm produce , emphasizing that farmers are now at vantage position  to produce more of what they need to feed the people.

On the aspect of cooperatives societies, the Chairman said every cooperative must be identified with its engagement in  a particular farming activities through traceability system, which will add value to agriculture   and food security.

The Chairman commended  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for their commitment in tackling insecurities, with the aim of creating a secured environment for farmers to carry out their farming activities
